DAMA Meeting in Johannesburg – 16 August 2017

DAMA (the Data Management Association) is a non-profit, vendor-independent, international association of technical and business professionals dedicated to advancing the concepts and practices of information resource management (IRM) and data resource management (DRM). The vision of DAMA is to support an empowered global community of information professionals.

Topic: DMBOK V2 – What’s IN and What’s OUT

Version 2 has just been released and there is a lot of interest in what has changed and why! At the next meeting, Howard will be doing a comparison between V1 & V2 to present the major differences and enhancements that have been developed in V2.
The structure of the DMBok remains largely unchanged with the advent of a new Knowledge Area – Data Integration and Interoperability and the renaming of Data Development to Data Modelling and Design. Lots of changes to the activities, deliverables and metrics.

About the Speaker

Howard specializes in helping CDOs, EIM Head and Information Governors to establish beneficial Information Governance programs in large, complex information-dependent institutions.
He is experienced in establishing effective EIM Centre of Excellence (COE) that entrench information governance by providing EIM Journeys that deliver business value. Howard has worked for most of the major financial service providers in South Africa, experience in Banking, Central Banking & insurance.
